The gym floor was on fire last Friday with intense battles in the Partner Pacer Fitness Finals!
The boys started us off with a head to head tie between the teams of Liam Folk & Maddox Mangers and Dylan Escorcia & Caden Muller @ 191 lines each. If you've never seen the pacer, that is a fast and furious amount of lines!
Working their hardest and with a smile, Braelyn Winn & Jaya White pushed their limits with 146 lines for the girls.
In our Co-Ed division, Katie Usagani & Cam Carnes surpassed their qualifying score of 120 by running an amazing 152 lines! That's 32 more lines Pumas...absolutely amazing!
Great job to all who qualified and competed...we are proud of you!

Thank you to our PRIDE leaders and staff who welcomed incoming 6th-grade parents and students last night. The school tour was great and lots of good information was shared.

Last night 8th grade volleyball played Euclid! All three teams showed up and put on a hard fight til the end.
A team started off with a close game, only losing by two points & continuing to put it all on the court in the second game. Unfortunately, it ended in a loss but we had some great stuff happening out there including Jaya White being able to adjust to the court & Emerson Sisler stepped up when things got hard! Nice job A team!
B team took away their FIRST WIN of the season last night! Every single player gave their all, but especially served their way through the game. Issy Totten was assertive on the court & Chloe Arnold was able to have some smart plays at the net. Congrats on your first win girls!
C team walked away with another win last night as well, making that a 3 game winning streak! This was a 3 set match, and the girls played hard all the way through. Special shout-out to Al Rivera and Evelyn Dishong for taking opportunities every time they could!
What a great night for all 3 teams, win or loss! We are so proud of you!

The 7th grade girls volleyball teams took on the Goddard Vikings last night at Powell. While the A team had an over 90% serve accuracy and tried to set up a lot of great plays, they were unable to walk away with the win. Cora Amann showed up to the court with great serves and sets, Rene Schell was moving all over the court and almost saved a play with a fantastic foot maneuver, but all in all, the match didn't land in our favor. The girls improved a lot this season and your coaches are impressed with your spirit and determination.
The B battled it out with the Vikings in a 3 game match. The first game proved successful with a lot of great plays being set up and good spirit on the court. The second game was a loss- not in spirit or effort, but the Vikings won by just 4 points. The Pumas were able to pull off the victory in a close 3rd game, winning by just the 2 points they needed for the match. Sopjie Tober was the match MVP with solid serving- including the match winning points. B team players really improved this season in skill and technique and were a pleasure to watch throughout the three games. Your coaches had a great time coaching you and seeing your improvements!
The C team also went to three games that unfortunately ended in a match loss. Game time jitters got in the way the first game with many missed serves. A HUGE shout out to Jayda Brown, who has been working so hard on her serving technique. In 2 games Jayda was our number one scorer with 6 points- way to go Jayda! The second game we rallied back- getting our serves over the net and making some other great plays on the court. In the last game, we just couldn't make things happen and the Vikings game back strong for the win. C team players- you came to play each and every day and have shown your coaches that you work hard and never give up. It was a joy to be your coach!

If you didn't return your jersey last night, please get it to Ms. Bowlen ASAP. And players, don't forget the post season celebration in room 1067 after school on Tuesday, April 11.

Yesterday in CORE Plus, you talked about Puma Pride. As Powell Pumas, we display Puma Pride and we stand up for each other. We do this by showing respect to everyone in our school community.
