This is just a reminder that today NPfH and SAGA are hosting a Day of Silence. This is not the national day of silence, which falls during CMAS. This is an opportunity for students to show their support and stand up against bullying, discrimination, and isolation of the LGBTQ+ community. The students who choose to participate should have a sticker. Students: If there is a time when you are required to speak (for example Vision and Hearing testing for 7th grade) you should participate and return to their silence after.

Last night 8th grade volleyball took on the Goddard Vikings!

A team brought home another win in 2 games! Kalhea Jordan really showed up and was attacking the ball like it was nobody’s business and Maddie Pepe stepped up when we needed her most. We can’t wait to see these girls continue to fight the rest of the season!

B team took us to a nail biting 3 games. With Sophie Tober taking every chance to touch the ball and Hailey with some crazy saves to help us rack up points. Unfortunately, we didn’t take the win but the girls fought incredibly hard.

C team walked away with a loss, but they are really showing their stuff. Gehna Kanchan was able to gain us quite a few points with her serves and Sa’Rya Stone’s positive attitude and perseverance really held up the team. Great job C team!

Just a reminder that Beginning Cooking Club will meet after school today.

The results are in! After an intense round of collecting and counting yesterday, we have already raised almost $400 as a school in the first few days of the competition. Our 6th grade CORE classes this year are dominating with money raised so far. Watch out!

While Mrs. Chavers' CORE+ had the most pennies, she unfortunately experienced quite a bit of sabotaging as well. This allowed Mrs. Boehmler's CORE+ to take the lead and earn the most positive points for the first round of the competition. Congratulations to Mrs. Boehmler's CORE+! We will reach out to you to coordinate a time to receive your prize.

Keep fighting strong Pumas! We have a week to go and the totals will continue to build upon what you have earned so far. Mrs. Calkins' CORE+ currently has the most points in 7th grade and Mr. Sprague's CORE+ has the most points in 8th grade, but it is anyone's competition! Keep strategizing and bring in those pennies! Teachers - please note that you have access to the Google Spreadsheet if you would like to see the results of your own CORE+ class.

Basketball club starts tomorrow morning! Any 7th or a 8th grade students interested in joining should stop by Mrs. Marshall's room to sign up. Basketball club will meet every Friday morning from 7:15 - 8:10.

Last night our 8th grade volleyball teams took on the Newton Knights! All three teams played really well and were super flexible in their first games of the season!

A team came away with a victory in 2 games with the help of Cora Amann and Scarlett Segura's serves, great defense from Rene Schell and 2 kills from Shay Wilcox! Way to start the season ladies!

B team played really hard, but came out a little short. Lilly Shurtleff helped out the team with 7 points from her serving, Harriett Jewell was a super positive team member who was all over the court, and Erin Dickes was exactly where she needed to be with her passing. With a ton of girls, there is a lot of skill and talent and we can't wait to see them grow the rest of the season.

C team fought through 3 games with no substitutions! Unfortunately, it ended in a loss but every player stayed positive and played their hardest. Jordan Whipple and Anna Rowe had great serves, and the whole team didn't let a single ball drop without someone going for it. Way to go girls.
