Thursday, December 12th

 Dec 12, 2024

Attention 7th and 8th graders! Do you like to play video games? Well you’re in luck. Powell will be starting an eSports Club second semester. An informational meeting will be held in the library today during lunch for 7th graders who are interested. An 8th grade informational meeting will be held Monday, December 16 during lunch. Please contact Mr. Altena or Ms. Boehmler for more information.

NJHS Students we need your help!  Even if you have your school hours taken care of, we still have an abundance of calendars that need wrapping.  Please plan on going to Mrs. Jayasanker’s room for lunch today.  We will see you there!

Who’s CORE+ class is the best?  Let's find out during our Powell Holiday Dental Drive!  Bring unopened dental supplies like toothpaste, toothbrushes and flossers and place them in your CORE+ teachers box all week!  On Friday, the items will be counted and points will be tabulated to crown our most generous (or clever) CORE+ Class.  See the posters around the building or our NJHS students for details!

There is no TSA today. Please plan accordingly for our last meeting of the semester which is next Thursday.

Due to the assembly tomorrow, there will NOT be Friday morning basketball club.  Again, we will NOT be having basketball club tomorrow morning, enjoy the extra sleep and we will see you next week for our final meeting of the semester.

Please bring any overdue library books into Mr. Benton before Christmas break. If you have overdue books after the break, there will be a charge in IC for them.

Students, if you open a Chromebook and the screen says that it is locked, this is a friendly reminder to please bring it to the Media Center. Hiding or taking Chromebooks from other students is something that wastes time, resources, and will lead to consequences.

Next up is Sources of Strength

Miles: Happy Thursday from your friends in Sources of Strength. Since we are celebrating Positive Friends this month, let’s talk about some signs of being a Positive Friend.

Colton: You usually feel happy when you are with a Positive Friend. And

Your friend respects your feelings and opinions.

Gus: Your friend is happy for you when good things happen to you and you enjoy being with this person, and also enjoy spending time with others.

Gus, Miles,Colton:  Pumas, thanks for thinking about what makes a Positive Friend. Have a great day of friendships, pumas!
