We hosted the 6th grade Wrestling Festival in the Powel gym last night and it was another exciting evening of combat sport. Several matches had the crowd on their feet as your Pumas each fought with toughness. While we won ten matches, we unfortunately also lost ten. Special recognition to Ovilia Alexander, Jack Stewart, Kayden Comple and Reesen Esquibel for pinning their opponents, Gael Rojo Macias for two wins, and Marcleo Garcia for going undefeated all season and dominating every opponent. There is a lot of pride and grit in our 6th graders though, and coaches Altena and Sprague are excited to see next year’s 7th grade team.
Best of luck to your 8th grade girls basketball team today as they travel to Newton for the semifinals of the LPS district tournament. Good luck, Pumas!
And, good luck to our 7th and 8th grade wrestlers as they travel to Goddard today for the district championships. Bring home that trophy!
