Students, please check with your family to see if you have any outstanding school fees. If you do, you will not be able to get your yearbook when they are distributed on Wednesday.  

Students, please be aware that during Chromebook check in, you must turn in a SCHOOL ISSUED CHARGER. If you lost your charger, you are not to buy one off of Amazon and turn that in. You will still be charged $25 for a missing charger if you turn one in that has been bought from a 3rd party such as Amazon.

Tomorrow, Tuesday, May 20, will be the Semester CORE card drawing.  For this, all CORE cards turned in throughout the semester are put back in the mix!  Turn in those CORE cards by the end of the day TODAY for a chance to win some pumarific prizes!

Last week you were told if you have a yearbook waiting for you. Please see your CorePlus teacher if you missed that information. But what if you’re not on that list?!? You can still buy a yearbook this Wednesday morning after the announcements you can get in line by the front office.  you must have a check or cash for $45, we can not accept credit cards to purchase a yearbook. You will stand in line at the front office on May 2st to buy a yearbook. It is a first come first serve basis. Once the books are sold out, we will not have any more books. Again, if your name isn’t on the list your CorePlus teacher has, you can still buy a book while supplies last this Wednesday morning for $45. No yearbooks will be given out or sold until Wednesday. Bring a sharpie or pen for yearbook signing!!!

The Littleton Police Department is hosting their annual Jr. Police Academy for Middle School Students.  The half-day camp will run from June 23rd to June 27th at Mission Hills Church.  Spots are limited to this free camp, so register today using the link on the main page of the Powell Middle School website. Fitness Finals are complete! Strong to the Core, winning the Plank Championship for the girls was Sami Stephan with an astounding 8:02 hold! Luke Stengel held strong at 5:42 for the boys…both with Ahhhhhmazing form! Way to go you two!

Great job to all the P.E. students who worked their hardest this year. Your body will always be thankful 😀 Keep up the fitness & fun over the summer and let’s crush some records next year!

Congratulations to our Push-Up finalists as they killed it in this event! Literally pushing their way to the top was Andrey Pummel with 45 push-ups and Parker Brown with 56 push-ups. Way to leave it all out there as you end your Powell P.E. experience!

Fitness Finals are ending quickly and fiercely! Come take a look at the PE board in the locker room hallway and see all of the Top 10 athletes in their events. Jump Rope winners are as follows: 

For their last time Jumping as Pumas, Addi Bow and Trace Taylor took the 3 minute championship with 471 jumps and 517 jumps respectively! For the 7th grade 2 minute jump, Harper Dickes jumped 285, while Reece Muller hit 381! Lastly, our 6th graders did not disappoint with their 1 minute jump championship going to Maelyn Schweid at 168 jumps and Asher Neville at 162! That’s some speedy footwork by all! Stay tuned for tomorrow’s, sun’s out funs out winners of the Push-Up Finals!

Student council would like to announce their elections for the 2025-2026 school year.  For Co Presidents please congratulate Jack Bednorz and Brooklyn Railsback and for Vice President  please congratulate Lexi Foulger.  They are excited and already working on plans for next year.  Congratulations Jack, Brooklyn and Lexi - we look forward to your leadership!

Yesterday was a fantastic way to end the school day with 2 great Mile races!! The boys started it off with 14 of 17 runners earning a PR! Merrick Zier pushed his hardest to win the race with an astounding time of 4:58, just 2 seconds shy of the record. Way to fly Zier! The ladies killed it with 11 of 15 earning their PRs, while it was a race to the finish between Olivia Simpson and Hamden Schweid. In the end, Hamden closed in and won with her best time of 6:45! Great run girls! 

So much thanks to our Puma Community for coming out to cheer all of these runners on. It was truly something special. 

Next Wednesday is our Thespian Troupe induction ceremony here at Powell starting at 6:30pm. All Thespians are welcome to attend! If you have previously been inducted, attended ThesCon, in a past show, or not, please join us for a night of recognition and celebration!

Today is the day you’ve all been waiting for…it’s the Student Appreciation Ice Cream Social! See you there from 3:45 - 4:45 on the westside concrete patio!

Tomorrow morning will be the last day of Friday Morning Basketball Club.  Set your alarms and come play basketball together one last time this school year!

6th Grade Track! Due to the weather cancellations, we will have 1 makeup track practice. Come to the last track practice of the season on Tuesday next week. Plan on fun water games!

In P.E. we finalized the 20 minute run post test and here are our overall Winners with a capital W!. 6th grade goes to Laine Nix at  9.75 laps and Drezen Frasier at 11.5 laps. Great push you two! 7th grade goes to Emme DeFelice at 9.5 laps and Silas Folk at 13.25 laps. Now that’s flyin’!

Lastly, before these 2 go on to do bigger and greater things, they were leaving it all out there on the track their 8th grade year at Powell. Olivia Simpson took 1st with 10.5 laps while pushing just a bit ahead of Emery Hanson. Merrick Zier not only won the event this year, but set an astounding record with 14 killer laps!

Qualifying Milers, remember, today is your day to shine and get your best time of the year! After Block 7, head to the locker room to change if needed and then head straight to the track to check in with Ms. Bowlen! 

Last night our 8th grade boys volleyball traveled to Mountain Ridge to play them in their final normal season game. Both teams took away wins and were able to have fun doing it. James Martin had some really great serving streaks and all of the boys made it fun with their dance moves on the court. B team also won in 2 sets! Rex Marshall had a 7 serve serving streak and Santiago Grado Caraveo played defensively all around the court. Great job, everyone! Tonight, our A team will be heading to Highlands Ranch high school to play in their end of season tournament, good luck guys!

Hey Pumas, please remember that Language Arts and Math classes are completing i-Ready testing for the remainder of this week and into next week as well.  Please be quiet and respectful in the hallways, especially when you are dismissed to and from lunch.  Thank you for being community-minded in the hallways!

Congratulations to Powell’s Battle of the Books Team!  Out of the seven middle school teams, Powell came in third!  Great job to Charlie Gienapp, Lydia Gelroth, Shaun O'Donnell and Anna Tin!  They did an amazing job!

Last night our boys volleyball teams played in a rematch against Cimarron! A team played so well together and took a win in 2 sets. Ethan Van Gemert had a really great serve streak and Davin Scholl played big at the net! Our B team unfortunately ended with a loss, but they didn’t give up! Mason Shipman had serves that were hard for the other team to return and Devin Vigil got some great passes. Great job guys!

 There is Glee Club today after school in the choir room!

Last night, our boys volleyball teams played Sagewood Middle School! Both teams took away wins last night and played great! There were lots of good serving streaks and the boys were able to set up lots of 3 touches throughout the sets. Great job, guys!

Our last home game will be on Monday with a rematch against Cimarron Middle School. Be sure to come out and support if you are able!

PRIDE Leaders - Our last meeting with the sixth graders is this Thursday, May 1, during CORE Plus. Please check Google Classroom for details about our meeting with the sixth graders this Thursday, May 1, and see Mrs. Blake if you have any questions. Last night our boys volleyball teams played Cresthill Middle School! Both teams are really showing improvements and did an awesome job last night. A team won in 2 sets with Ace DeBolt getting multiple serving streaks, Max Braaten getting lots at the net, and Tareq Fraiser was able to set our hitters while also getting multiple kills. 

B team also won, but in 3 sets! Henry Turner was able to play defensively in the back row which helped get multiple touches, Jacob Tin had lots of great serves, and Mason Shipman was able to send over some balls that were hard for the other team to return.

Great job, guys!

Be sure to come out and support our 8th grade boys volleyball team in their game after school against Sierra Middle School!

Last night our 8th grade volleyball teams played Sierra Middle School! Our A team took away another win last night. Joe Black had some really great kills and Ruben Petrie wasn’t letting anything hit the floor. The whole team worked together really well and fought til the end. B team unfortunately ended in a loss, but not without a fight. Paxton Cole had really great serves that helped the team and Brandon Acker hustled all over the court. Great job you guys!

Be sure to come support our teams in yet another game tonight here at Powell against Sagewood Middle School!
