Giddy up Pumas! Who's ready for some Chili?? Who’s ready to show some gratitude for good times with friends and family and delicious food? The 5th annual Chili Cookoff is around the corner to do just that! Bring your best recipe and challenge other families for the title, or just come to enjoy and taste a variety of chilis while casting your vote for your favorite! This fun and competitive event will be held in the cafeteria on November 17th from 5:30-7. Be on the lookout for an Alert Now message to enter the contest as well as to RSVP so we know you are attending!

Students, did you know you can get a free Mici’s pizza when your family makes ANY donation to our October Direct Donation Drive? And higher amounts get free Puma gear. Remind your families that every donation counts.

Congratulations to our 8th grade girls A team on their win against Newton last night. Our B team was lalso super competitive against a blended Newton team. Both of our teams represented Powell well, demonstrating our CORE values in their discipline, sportsmanship and teamwork!

YOUR Puma 7th and 8th Grade Wrestling Team opened our season with a ferocious victory over a talented team from Euclid. What a great crowd we had last night! Lots and lots of Pumas came to support the team and we fed off the energy! We won 18 total matches, 13 of which were by pin. Yet we only lost 11 hard fought bouts. There were way too many exciting moments to relate, but special recognition goes out to Dave Pierce for two wins by pin and Alex Diggins with two wins, one by pin. Also, the following wrestlers pinned their opponents in the first period: Declan Becker, Tully Becker, Lukas Crozier, Christian Flores, Cooper Matney, Brae Smith, and Charlie Turner. Finally, both Calvin Easton and Azzo Estes beat their opponents by technical fall, as in winning by scoring more than 15 points ahead of an opponent. People, YOU have a great team this year and we really appreciate your support last night!

Congratulations to our 7th grade girls basketball teams for their first games on Monday against Newton! The A Team played a great game and hustled all the way to the end. Unfortunately, a few of our shots didn’t fall and Newton won the game. But every team member played very well and Abby Meier led the A team with 12 points. The B team also played a great game and was able to defeat Newton! Syd Carantit led the team with 6 points, while both Whitney Foulger and Sara Kasim had 4 points. Congrats, Pumas!
