Attention all 8th graders interested in auditioning to speak at this year's continuation ceremony. Auditions will be held after school on Wednesday, May 10 in Ms. Jaysanker's room, room 3047. The speech prompt has been distributed in your language arts classes, but see Mr. Lacey or Ms. Jaysanker if you need another copy.

8th grade students who are attending Arapahoe High School and who are interested in honors math or sciences course need to take the honors skills assessment for math and science. If you are interested in these honors courses there is one more opportunity to take the assessment for freshman math and science honors courses. These assessments are not placement exams. We are not allowed to "skip" or "test out" of courses that are prerequisites. These assessments are only to determine regular vs. honors placement in courses. Students not wishing to be placed in an Honors math course do not need to take an assessment and will be promoted to the next regular level math course.

The math/science skill assessment will be given on Wednesday, May 17th from 4:30 - 6:00 PM. The skill assessment will be located in Room W1528. Students should enter through the Forum Entrance on the north side of the building, across from the baseball field (enter the parking lot off of Franklin Street). Students should bring #2 pencils and a non-graphing calculator. For additional information, please see the Math/Science Skill Assessment Information

Attention all SAGA club members. We will be having our last meeting this Monday, May 8th after school in Mr. Teruel's room. It will be a celebration of strength and leadership. We want to celebrate everyone for having the strength to be themselves and for working to help make Powell a more tolerant and inclusive school. We also want to congratulate our 8th-grade leaders as they get ready to move on to the next chapter of their lives. If you can bring a snack or drink to share, that would be great but it isn't necessary. Anyone who has ever attended a meeting this year is welcome to come, as well as Pumas who have never attended a meeting. Spread the word and we hope to see you there!
