Today is the day you have all been waiting for! Teams will be kickin’ it old school tonight for a little competition, fun and exercise during our 8th Annual Kickball Tournament. After school, bring your backpack out, place it under the trees on the hill by the blacktop, and get your team gathered up to listen to instructions from Mr.Meier. If you’re not playing, we hope you still hang out to enjoy the good vibes and food from the food trucks. Good luck and have a great time! Remember, sportsmanship is key to everyone enjoying this annual tradition.

There is NO TSA today after school. Good luck to members participating in the Kickball Tournament! Our next meeting will be on October 3. All forms and fees will be due at this time. We will be finalizing team and individual events at the next meeting.

Kickball teams, PACKETS ARE DUE TODAY! Turn in all forms to Mrs. Durbin by the end of the day! 

Congratulations to the 7th Grade Track team as they defeated Goddard in yesterday’s meet. The boys team won by a large margin with a score of 80-33! The girls team had a hard fought win with a score of 55-51. Awesome job guys! Today will be our last practice of the year.

Good morning kickin’, hangin’, snackin’ Pumas! This is THE week! Ya, you guessed it, it’s the week of the 8th annual Kickball Tournament. We cannot wait to see all of you on Thursday after school ready to play, cheer on, and enjoy some lawn games & food! Bring your money and good vibes! 

HUGE REMINDER: Kickball packets are due TOMORROW by the end of the day to Mrs. Durbin in the main office.Teams consist of: 1 Powell Staff Member, 2 Family Members and 5 -7 Powell Students. Total maximum # of players is 10!

Good luck to our 7th grade track team today as they travel to Goddard for their second meet of the season! Let’s Go Pumas!  If you still need to sign up for events, please go see Mr. Benton in the library.

Magic: The Gathering Club will meet today after school  in Mrs. Blake’s room, 1068. All experience levels and legal decks are welcome. See you this afternoon for some fun competition!

No Place for Hate will meet today after school in Ms. Boehmler’s room, 1044.

Show your spirit this Friday for our first Broncos home game.  Wear your jerseys, t shirts or sweatshirts.  Don’t have anything that says “Broncos”, wear orange or blue.

Are you planning to play in the kickball tournament, a week from today, on Thursday, September 19th, but haven’t turned in your kickball packet forms?  You're in luck & still have time! Drop them off in the attendance office with Mrs. Durbin by Tuesday, September 17th.  We’ll see you on the field or in line for churros and hot dogs! Be there or be square!

TSA meets today after school in room 1210. Please remember to bring your forms and fees.

This week is National Suicide Prevention Week.The week is about how to educate ourselves and others on warning signs for suicide and ways we can intervene. Keep your eye on the Counseling Google Classroom for resources throughout the week. As always, if you or someone you know might need support, feel free to make an appointment with your counselor or talk to your trusted adult. 

Magic: The Gathering Club will meet for the first time this school year after school, next Monday, September 16, in Mrs. Blake’s room, 1068. All experience levels and legal decks are welcome. Review your strategy, set your deck, and join us for some fun competition!

The 8th grade home track meet against Goddard was a success! Both boy’s and girl’s teams came out victorious, with girls leading 51 to 64 and boys 31 to 86. Out of 13 events, Powell girls  secured first place in 9 events and for the boys,  11 events.  It was a fantastic meet with hard work and perseverance!  We hope to see you at the next home meet against Newton on Wednesday the 18th.

NJHS applications are due tomorrow, Thursday September 12th at 3:30 sharp to Mrs. Dondelinger.  Students, please ensure your application is completed and turned in so you can be considered for membership.  Please give your dues (Money) to Ms. Cook in the main office.

Teachers & Staff members, please ensure that any purple recommendation forms you have received are filled out and turned into Mrs. Dondelinger’s mailbox prior to the end of the day tomorrow.  Thank you for your continued support of Powell’s chapter of the National Junior Honor Society! 

TSA or Technology Student Association is meeting after school on Thursday in Room 1210. Join other students as we begin to work on planning, designing and building for technology competitions.

Attention Current 6th Grade Volleyball Players: Remember we have practice tomorrow after school. Be sure you have your Yellow Emergency Card turned in so you can play. See Mr. Sadler if you need a new emergency card.
