Student council will be collecting new school supplies all this week for a school in Uganda. Please help support this effort by bringing new school supplies to your lunch hour. Collection boxes will be located on the stage. For a list of school supplies that are needed, please see the posters around the building.

Wondering where that one jacket you used to wear all the time is? Check Powell’s lost and found locations. If you’ve lost jewelry, a watch, phone or other valuable thing then check in the front office. All other items including clothing, coats and water bottles are in the back of the cafeteria. Any items that are still in lost and found next Wednesday will be donated.

All 6th Grade students that were in Mrs. Gaston 6th Grade Metals/STEM class MUST pick up your projects from first quarter before Thanksgiving Break.

Your Puma wrestling team had another strong showing last night even though we were down several athletes to illness. We won 29 matches and lost only 12. The Vikings of Goddard are always well coached and as usual, they brought a team of beasts, so our efforts last night were especially noteworthy. The effort and determination your team showed was inspired. Coaches Braun and Sprague are especially proud of the following wrestlers who had impressive victories:

Anthony Salazar, who remains undefeated this season and barely breaks a sweat before pinning his opponents.

Ben Ducovany, who wrestled the best match of his life and dominated a worthy opponent.

Devin Kennealy, who wrestled lights out last night, pinning two opponents with arms the size of legs.

Nolan Dunnington, who showed tremendous growth and heart outlasting one of the better wrestlers on the Vikings squad
Cruz Young, who easily handled a man-child that outweighed him by 75 pounds and then out strategized two other beasts enroute to winning all three of his matches.

Lance Derby, who easily pinned both his opponents in the first round!

Charlie Rolf, who out hustled and out thought a freakishly strong opponent.

Mareak Mangers, who makes this combat sport look easy and won multiple solid victories.

And finally William Ricenbaw, who was a tactician and busted out high school level move combinations enroute to two decisive wins by pin.

People, we look hungry and ready to fight for the district championships next Thursday. PLEASE come to Newton next week and pack those stands. We want to bring you a 5th championship in a row and need your support!
