Wednesday - April 14th

Yesterday in the Powell World cup, we had Argentina dominate Chad in an 8-0 game. The Italy and Scotland game ended in PKs with a final score of 4-3, Italy. Thursday Chad and Scotland will play for bronze, while Argentina and Italy will play for Gold and Silver.

Our 7th-grade world cup will begin next week on Tuesday! See Mr. Marshall, Mr. Eilert or Ms. Nash for more details.

April brings National Poetry Month and we are recognizing some memorable poems during our announcements. Enjoy today's poem by William Shakespeare.

Shall I compare thee to a summer’s day?

Thou art more lovely and more temperate.

Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May,

And summer’s lease hath all too short a date.

Sometime too hot the eye of heaven shines,

And often is his gold complexion dimmed;

And every fair from fair sometime declines,

By chance, or nature’s changing course, untrimmed;

But thy eternal summer shall not fade,

Nor lose possession of that fair thou ow’st,

Nor shall death brag thou wand’rest in his shade,

When in eternal lines to Time thou grow’st.
