Hey Pumas! Show up and cheer on our 8th-grade boy's basketball teams as they welcome Newton after school today.

The TSA Club is seeking the entire school's help! In February, at our State TSA Competition, we have the opportunity to help the Ronald McDonald House to raise money for sick children and their families. Powell wants to be recognized as the school to contribute the most. Please bring in the tabs from pop cans between now and February 23rd! Collect tabs in a medium-size zip lock bag and deliver them to Mrs. Gaston in Room 1210. Each full zip lock bag will earn CORE cards to the individual that donates. Start collecting now!

Yesterday was the first game for the 7th-grade boy's basketball teams as the Newton Knights came to Powell. The A team fought well, led by Cooper Matney's excellent point guard work, some strong drives to the basket by Liam Folk, and defensive stops by Fletch Farley. Even with solid play by the Pumas though, the Knights came out on top.
The B team also had a tough game. The team was able to make some solid passes and moved the ball up and down the court. Some highlights include Ben Dehan's gutsy defense, David Pierce's strong rebounding and presence in the paint, and Sawyer Gostenick's three-pointer late in the game.
The C team learned a lot in their first game as well. Some standouts included Armani Gonzales' hustle and fast breaks, Alex Diggin's ball screens and smart passes, and Tommy Hildahl's rebounding.
All levels played hard, worked on their communication, furthered their skills, and the coaches are proud of you. We are also grateful for all of the Puma family and friends who came out to support the team. Our next game will be Wednesday at Euclid so please come and watch as we take on the Falcons.
