Your 8th grade girls started the A & B tournaments yesterday afternoon. The A squad faced off with the juggernaut that is Euclid. The girls started the first game off right as they stayed close with the Falcons. But the girls serves let them down and Euclid's did not. That was all the Falcons needed as they served their way to victory. Keira O had 3 great over hand hits to lead the Pumas.
The B girls came out and looked a little bit nervous. Their normal level of excitement and positive energy was masked by that nervous energy. The girls struggled to complete the passes to the setters. Gillian W was one of the few who had some fantastic passes on some very difficult serves. Speaking of difficult serves, Euclid had 6 - 8 girls with amazing over hand serves that carried their team. The first game did not end well as the Pumas lost by a lot. That did not stop the girls from turning around their energy and coming out with their normal positive energy in the 2nd game. Because of that POSITIVITY the 2nd game started off so much better than the 1st. The girls fought and clawed to stay close to the serving machine of Euclid. The girls were within 6 points with 1 of our better servers stepping back to the line. But Euclid's bumps were just too good for the girls to deal with. Come out on Saturday to support the girls as they play at 11:00, 12:00 and 1:00 PM.
