Your 8th grade volleyball teams made their coaches proud on Saturday afternoon. The teams did a great job of putting on display all that they had learned throughout the season. The B girls got things started by not wavering in their determination to get 3 hits. Gillian W by herself had 4 over hand hits in the first game. It had to be Sydney C's hit that was the most impressive of the match as she spiked it straight down on Newton. The Newton Knights did not even attempt 3 hits the entire match and their bumping was too consistent for our girls to handle as Powell lost in 2 games.

The A girls struggled a little in the first game. But the passing from Avery S and Peyden G was on point for the entire match. It was the overhand hitting from Keira O and the serving from Maddie G that pushed the match to 3 games. The highlight of the 3rd game had to be Sierra C. She went back to the line with the score 6-14. She had no room for error and she rose to the challenge as she scored 7 straight points. But it was not to be as Goddard got the win in that 3rd game.

The C girls came out with the only opportunity to bring home a trophy. The Vikings from Goddard said thank you very much as the girls spotted them an 11-0 lead in the first game. The girls did not stop fighting but could not come back from that 11-0 hole. The second game started much, much better but this time it was the passes that let the girls down as they lost in 2 games.

Girls it is time to celebrate the season. Please listen to the announcements for the date of our end of the season celebration.
