Your 8th Grade Boys Track Team won a solid victory yesterday over a talented Goddard Viking squad. The weather was fabulous and we had many wonderful fans cheering us on. Cooper Matney had a fine day and placed in High Jump, Hurdles, and the 4 x 200. Jackson Waller placed first in the 400, first in the 4 x 100, and first in the Medley Relay. And as you heard... our relay teams looked great!
The real highlight of the meet was the 1600 though. Our new, all-time track mile record was broken again, twice! Liam Folk won with a new all-time best 5:14 and Maddox Mangers beat his previous record with a 5:18.
Wow, what a great meet!

Congratulations 8th Grade Girls' track for your second victory and for beating Goddard Middle School yesterday! It was a close meet, but we all could see how badly you wanted that win.
Some highlights include Kimsie DeNunzio taking first in the hurdles, and the 400 m dash, as well as third place in the 200 m! While Kenzie Luft anchored for us in the 4x200 and 4x100 m relays for two photo finishing wins! Everette Blackburn was a rockstar as they attempted all new field events, trying their best at something new. That's Puma Pride- pushing yourself to new heights and challenges!
That Puma Pride could not have shined brighter than in our own team manager, Emerson Sisler. She jumped into a race when one of our runners was hurt at the last second. Emerson, not prepared to run, borrowed her coach's shoes, grabbed the baton, and headed to the starting line without any hesitation. Just doing what needed to be done for the team. That was a great day to be a Puma!
