Thursday, November 2nd

Good luck to our 8th grade girls basketball teams as they travel for a rematch at Goddard after school today! And, good luck to our 7th and 8th grade wrestling team at their away meet versus Newton after school today.

Our talent show, called The Follies, is TONIGHT at 6pm -8pm. You will see singers, actors, a Rubik cube challenge, a duel piano number, a magician, Mrs. Marshall's Spanish 2 class and some of our teachers perform on our stage. Come support these brave folks tonight at 6pm! It's free!

The 6th annual Chili Cook-off is a friendly and tasty competition for all of Pumas to enjoy! Please join us on November 16th in the cafeteria from 5:30-7 p.m. for some great comfort food and a chance to connect with our wonderful Powell community. Let’s feel & show the gratitude of those involved, our loved ones, and our community of Pumas!

Our next Battle of the Books Tutorial will be on Friday! We will be creating our teams and playing our first practice rounds. Thanks to those of you who have turned in your permission slips and created your first five questions.
If you have not done these things, please turn in your permission slip and submit your five questions for the book you read on the form in the Battle of the Books Google Classroom as soon as possible.
If you have any questions, please see Mrs. Jordan or Mrs. Calkins. We can’t wait to battle with you on Friday!

Our 8th grade girls A team deserves a shout out for their amazing effort last night against a very good Newton team. Our Pumas showed so much determination and teamwork and everyone had a super positive attitude. Whitney Foulger did an awesome job pushing the pace which resulted in several baskets. When we got the ball to Kalyhea (Ka-lee-uh) Jordan, her opponents couldn't stop her! Syd Carantit is relentless on defense and was responsible for several steals and turnovers. Even though we came up on the losing side yesterday, we are already excited for another chance at them next week!
