Tuesday, November 8

Next week our bellies will be full and our souls full of gratitude as we enjoy some delicious chili and good times with family and friends at the 5th annual chili cook off? Last day to RSVP is this Thursday, the 10th. Please visit the Powell Website under the “Announcements” section to fill in the RSVP form. We look forward to our largest turn out in Powell history!

Do you like to read and talk about books? Do you appreciate a little friendly competition? If so, get ready! Battle of the Books is returning to Powell after more than a decade! If you would like to be selected for the Introductory Tutorial on November 11, please complete the form that your LA teachers have posted in their Google Classrooms. Mrs. Jordan will be sharing all of the information, book titles, team info, etc. at that time. Please see her if you have questions. Let’s get ready to READ!!!

Do you have a hidden talent? Want to show it off? Auditions for our talent show are happening in one week from today. Grad a time slot on the Choir room door 3026 before Friday. Is it just you or do you have a large group? Either way you just need one time slot. Join the amazing acts at the Follies! Auditions are Nov 15 starting at 4pm.

Attention all Thespian Troupe members! All Thespian Troupe members! Tomorrow's Thespian Troupe meeting is only for those who are competing in state. Again, we do not need you to attend tomorrow's meeting if you are not competing in ThesCon. If you are competing in ThesCon, your money and IE choice must be ready for tomorrow's meeting. YOU MUST PAY AND KNOW EXACTLY WHAT PIECE YOU ARE PERFORMING AT STATE for the meeting on Nov 9. No late sign ups and no refunds.

Pumas, let me take a moment to be real with you. We have a great 6th grade wrestling squad. Each and every athlete competed with pride and great effort and determination. We won six matches last night and only lost three. Winners by points were Grayson Ferrigno, Jackson Harvey, and Blake Matney. Winners by pin were Brooks Harvey, Corbin Weil, and Eli Seik. Coaches Ennis and Sprague are very proud of each and every wrestler on our team. Look out LPS, we have a solid nucleus of beasts for the next TWO seasons. Sixth and seventh graders, will you join us next year? Are you tough enough to step on a wrestling mat?

Congratulations to Powell’s 7th grade girls basketball team for their games against Goddard last night! The A team won 44 to 9! Nearly every Puma scored, with Marley Render recording 5 points, Rene Schell scoring 8 points, and Abbi Meier with 19 POINTS! Way to go! Goddard only had one team, and so our B team played the same team as our A team and fought hard. Syd Carantit and Whitney Foulger both led the team with points as our B team fell short. Both teams take on Euclid next Monday to finish our season. Go Pumas!

There will be a student council meeting tomorrow at 9:15 in room 3040.
