Attention all 7th and 8th-grade boys interested in playing basketball. If you are in 8th grade, your season begins tomorrow. If you are in 7th grade, your season begins this Wednesday, December 14. Please meet your coaches after school in the gym on your day, dressed and ready to play.
Congratulations to our 8th-grade girls basketball teams for their amazing performances Saturday in our District Basketball Tournament over the weekend. Our A Team brought the Championship trophy back to Powell after beating Euclid in the finals and finishing their season undefeated! Our B team played so hard but came up just a couple points short of winning the B Team Title. Powell's girls basketball players are top-notch on and off the court. Each and every one of them shows sportsmanship, dedication, teamwork, perseverance, and positivity in every setting they are in. These girls are leaders in every sense and Powell is so lucky to have them here as part of our community.
8th Grade Basketball players, please be sure to wash your uniform and bring it to our celebration this Friday during lunch in Mrs. Marshall's room.
Here's a special announcement from Sources of Strength! Our final activity for our Generosity Campaign is for students and staff to bring in donations for the Denver Ronald McDonald House. The Ronald McDonald House provides a home away from home for families who travel to Denver in order to receive medical care for their child. Please bring in things like laundry supplies, kitchen supplies, bathroom supplies, holiday items, and individual snacks. There will be reminders of what you can bring in on posters in the hallways and on the monitors! Donations are being collected in the main office. Thanks, everyone!
