Seventh-grade girls - Are you interested in attending the Girls Exploring STEM event? Girls Exploring Science, Technology, Engineering, and Math (GESTEM) is an exciting event that introduces middle school girls to the wide range of opportunities for potential careers in STEM fields through hands-on workshops and interactions with engineering professionals. If you are interested in participating please see Mrs. Gaston for more information.

Magic: The Gathering Club - Due to a scheduling conflict, Magic will not meet on Monday, April 4. Instead, we will meet the following Monday April 11. Take the extra week to set your deck and be ready for the competition. Please see Mrs. Blake with any questions.

Your 8th grade girl volleyball players went over to Goddard yesterday afternoon and represented Powell very, very well.

The A team played the game with a different level of energy and excitement than they have played with all season. As a result the girls took down the previously undefeated Vikings in two games. The girls were led by great serves and many, many over hand hits as they won 21-14 and 21-16.

The B girls played the first game as if they were coming off a 13 day break as they spotted the Vikings a 1-12 lead which led to a quick loss in that first game. The second game was completely different as they won by 4 points thanks to clutch serves by Emery M and Keira S. The third and final game was decided by the fact that Goddard served just a little bit better than your pumas as they lost 11-15.

The C girls tried their very best to get three hits when the ball was on their side of the court. The game ultimately was decided by the girl's serves and passing ability as they won in three very exciting games.

Please come out on Tuesday and Thursday of next week to support your 8th grade volleyball teams.
