Wednesday, April 6th
The 8th grade volleyball girls went over to Newton and played some competitive volleyball. The A girls were led by the clutch serves and hits of Lilah V. Cate M. was absolutely everywhere on the court and on multiple occasions refused to let the ball hit the ground. The girls' efforts were not enough as Newton got some timely serves to win in three close games.
The B girls faced off with a good serving and bumping opponent from Newton. The Powell girls were led by some clutch serves of their own from Sophie B. and Kacky R. And wow you should have seen the amazing overhand attacks from Abby B. & Grace P. But the bumps from Newton were too much in the end as the girls also lost in three close games.
The C girls came out of the gate ready for anything. That was anything until they encountered the clutch underhand serves from Newton. But the girls battled and never gave up. Brianna M-M. found a way to get multiple overhand attacks on the ball that scored points. The girls aren't very far away from putting together all of the pieces to complete their three hits more consistently. To go with the theme of the other two matches the C girls lost in three very close games.
