Two of the three Powell girls volleyball teams had a rough night against the Goddard Vikings at home yesterday afternoon. Try as they might, the girls just could not hold off the Vikings and the A team lost their match 7-21 and 9-21.
Try as they might, and try they did, the B team lost in 3 games. After a close win the first game, 21-17, and despite good serves from many of the girls, Goddard pulled ahead and won game two 18-21 and took the match with the 3rd game of 15-17.
The C team left their season with a W. They won the first game 21-14 and in game 2, Morgan Hendron served the first 17 points, her first four serves as Aces. Cate Murphy finished off the match with 3 great serves for the win. The C team had 100% serving yesterday!! Way to go!
Congratulations go out to all the ladies who played. You all made improvements in your game, had positive attitudes and were a lot of fun to be with. Your coaches look forward to celebrating with you next Tuesday, April 19, from 4-5 in Miss Goerke's room, 1067.
