Your 8th grader volleyball girls started their tournament on Thursday afternoon. They traveled to Newton to take on the Knights in a familiar matchup.
The A girls came out of the gates quickly as they were able to jump on Newton thanks to some clutch serves and great hits from the girls as they won 25-23. The second game did not go as smoothly as the girls lost 15-25. The girls were determined to get the job done in three games, but the Knights were just a little too much to handle as the girls lost 13-15.
The B girls came out a little flat footed. But they worked through their issues and pushed back against the Knights as they lost 20-25 in the first game. And then something remarkable happened. Something neither of the coaches have ever seen happen before. A player was able to get 25 straight serves in without the Knights being able to do anything about it. So your Pumas won the second game by the score of 25-0. Thanks Sammy for being a rockstar of a server. The girls tried to carry that excitement and energy into the third game only to be undone by their passes as they lost in three games.

Everyone please come out on Saturday to support the girls as they play at 11 with the B girls, 12 with the A girls and 1 o'clock with the C girls who are the only ones who will be trying to bring home the trophy. Girls please arrive 30 minutes before the start time for your game.
