Hello Pumas, this is No Place For Hate’s Racial Awareness Week. I am Emerie from No Place for Hate and we want to raise awareness of people with different races and backgrounds of our school.

Today we are talking about Racism. Racism is the harmful belief that one’s race or skin color is better than another’s, and as a result, treating someone poorly based on their race. Racism can be further broken down into matters of systemic racism, structural racism, institutional racism, and more. We encourage you to speak out when you hear examples of this, ask questions, and gain more knowledge about the people around you!

Thank you for listening to our announcement and remember that you matter.

Come support our 8th grade boys basketball teams as they host the Newton Knights after school today. Let's fill the stands!

If you are interested in doing tech for the musical, please sign up for an interview time slot today. Go to the call board, which is the back of the stage door, and sign up for a slot, interviews take place next Tuesday but get a time slot today. Congratulations to our 7th Grade Boys Basketball teams who went to Euclid last night! All three teams showed a TON of improvement from our first games. Our A team fought a hard and close game, but ended up falling short 29 to 20. King Jordan dominated the boards and scored 6 points, while Landon Syers registered 5 steals.

Our B team showed a ton of hustle and led for a good part of the game, but ultimately fell 22 to 15. Max Braaten dominated on defense with 3 steals and multiple rebounds, while Ethan Van Gemert led the offense with 7 points.

The C team dominated from start to finish. It was a true team effort with Kai Budler, Blake Matney, and Leo Jurbala leading the offense to a 23 to 13 win! Go Pumas!
