Hello Pumas. This is No Place For Hate’s Racial Awareness Week. I am Mira from No Place for Hate and we want to raise awareness of people with different races and backgrounds.
Today we are talking about being Culturally Responsive. Being culturally responsive means to be able to understand and consider the different cultural backgrounds of the people you teach, offer services to, etc. An example of being culturally responsive at school may be that we can share with one another our identities in order to learn more about one another. We are surrounded by people who have different races, cultures, genders, religions, and disabilities that we may not identify with but we can still be understanding and accepting of all of those things and reasons.
Thank you for listening to our announcement and remember that you matter.
